Within 20 years of its existence the University has educated over 10 thousand graduates (engineers and master’s degree holders with high professional qualifications). It has also become the driving force of technological progress. Its greatest achievement is its graduates (of first-cycle, second-cycle and postgraduate studies), who succeed on a more and more demanding job market. By means of this we put into practice our strategy of development, which assumes that a university is to be leader in educating young people and adults which quickly adapts to the needs of the job market.

We want to offer young people our outstanding teaching staff and academic experience. Those who decide to study here will obtain education which is a ticket to a professional career in the whole Europe. Our graduates have always been valued highly by employers and we wish that this reputation grows by the year.
Dynamic development of the University and a concern for the quality of teaching have been confirmed by numerous awards, such as the Statue for Excellence in Management (2008) in Competition for Regional Quality Awards.
The University was also awarded “Promotion 2008” in a prestigious ranking of higher schools by “Rzeczpospolita” (Polish daily newspaper) and “Perspektywy” (educational portal). Information Technology for foreigners (the English programme)- the concept of education

First-cycle studies in Information Technology were opened in accordance with the decision of the Minister of Education and Sport of 01/07/2001 which authorised the university to conduct this field of study. At present, this field of study is carried out at the Faculty of Information Technology and Technical Sciences, with the Institute of Information Technology as the organizational unit responsible for the process of education.

Starting from the academic year of 2012/2013, engineering studies have been realised on the basis of teaching programmes adapted to the principles set by the National Qualifications Framework. The new teaching programme presents field of study- and specialisation- related learning outcomes compatible with area learning outcomes for technical sciences and the effects leading to engineering competences. The concept of teaching rests upon an assumption that upon completion of engineering studies the graduates will possess knowledge and skills which will enable them to  successfully pursue employment, start their own company or continue with the second-cycle studies.

The graduate in engineering studies at Information Technology gains both practical and theoretical knowledge of the field. S/he is capable of solving problems which involve implementation of  modern scientific methods. He knows the rules of organisation and functioning of  software and hardware computer systems. Due to a considerable amount of laboratory and project-oriented classes, the graduate is well prepared to apply for posts having in their scope design, creating, maintenance or distribution of information systems and tools. These could be, in particular, home and foreign enterprises which deal with design, production, trade and service activities.

The students of Information Technology can choose between two specialisations: Web Services and Applications and Computer Network Administration.

Graduates in Web Services and Applications are prepared to design and build websites,  administer website servers and Internet databases as well as implement and administer Internet services. They are able to design information systems and implement them to be used in specific conditions.

Graduates in Computer Network Administration can design computer networks, configure basic network devices and administer servers and computer networks. They use appropriate tools to perform administrative tasks.  They are capable of analysing risk and taking appropriate preventive measures.

Education at the Information Technology is a dynamic process. Its changeability is conditioned, above all, by the needs of our students and the needs of the environment.  For this reason, the syllabuses and the learning content have been shaped by the opinion of the representatives of our students and employers.

As the consequence of the above, a number of important changes has been introduced to the study programme, such as: improvement of the correlation between subjects, increase in the number of laboratory classes, especially within specialisation subjects, strengthening of the leading  subjects in each specialisation. The study programme provides for 20 hours of compensatory course in mathematics.

An important aspect of the process of education is to enable students to choose from a large selection of subjects and create their own educational paths in keeping with their individual interests and professional needs. Apart from specialisation and diploma seminar, the student can also choose among some general education subjects, including a foreign language course.

The study programme lasts 7 semesters. The programme is realized in two modes: full- time (Monday to Friday) and part-time ( Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays)

The graduates are conferred the title of engineer.
